These terms govern your use of the African Biochar Alliance website (the "Site"), operated by Veritas Global Technologies.

Last updated: 22 April 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. About us

The Site is operated by Veritas Global Technologies (Co. No. 17140097), a company registered in England and Wales. References to “we”, “us” and “our” mean Veritas Global Technologies.

3. Purpose of the site

The Site provides information about the African Biochar Alliance and the African Biochar Alliance Summit, including the programme, speakers, venue, and registration. Content is provided for general information only and may be updated, withdrawn or replaced at any time without notice.

4. Tickets, registration and payments

Where you purchase a ticket or register for an event via the Site, additional terms relating to the booking — including pricing, refund policy, cancellation rights, and event-day conduct — will be presented at the point of purchase and form part of your contract with us.

We reserve the right to amend the programme, speakers, venue or schedule of the event for reasons reasonably outside our control. Where a material change occurs, we will notify registered attendees and offer reasonable remedies in line with the booking terms.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Site lawfully and in good faith. You must not:

  • Use the Site to transmit unlawful, harmful, harassing or infringing content;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site or its underlying systems;
  • Use automated tools to scrape, crawl or extract data without our prior written permission;
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when contacting us through the Site.

6. Intellectual property

All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, images, video, layout and design — is owned by or licensed to Veritas Global Technologies and is protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. You may view, download and print pages for your personal, non-commercial use, provided you do not modify the content or remove any copyright notices.

You may not reproduce, distribute, publish or create derivative works from any Site content for commercial purposes without our prior written permission. Speaker names, organisation names, and third-party trade marks shown on the Site are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only.

7. Speaker line-up and event content

Speaker confirmations and session content are subject to change. The publication of a speaker name or organisation on the Site does not constitute a guaranteed appearance, endorsement, or contractual commitment by that individual or organisation, except where independently confirmed in writing.

8. Third-party links and content

The Site links to third-party websites (including Marriott, Tripadvisor, Booking.com, Google Maps, the Zambia Department of Immigration and others). We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or practices of those third parties, and inclusion of a link does not imply endorsement.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure or that it will meet your particular requirements. We make reasonable efforts to keep information accurate but make no warranties as to its completeness or fitness for any purpose.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Veritas Global Technologies shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site, including loss of profits, business, data or goodwill. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under England and Wales law.

11. Privacy and cookies

Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. Cookie use is described in the Cookie Policy.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when changes were last made. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions and any non-contractual obligations arising from or connected with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction in respect of any dispute, except that we may bring proceedings in any jurisdiction where you reside or have assets.
